Betsy Myers wrote the book “Take the Lead” having worked as an advisor under the tenure of the Presidents Obama and Bill Clinton as well as being a top director at Harvard Center for Public Leadership. Through her experience, she has figured out the characteristics of leaders who are inspiring and motivating. Betsy notes that good leadership is characterized by charisma and the manner in which the leader engages and treats the people. Betsy’s book “Take the Lead” highlights some of the features possessed by good leaders, which include passion for learning, authenticity, collaboration, clarity, courage, connection as well as respect (Myers 37).
