Bio Ethics Paper
Ethics refer to the principles that govern the characters of people or organizations. Bioethics in the same light denotes good conduct as far as medical and biological research goes. Food Inc. is a documentary produced in 2008. It talks about ethical issues in the food industry. The documentary “food Inc.” is a perfect illustration of the unethical practices in the U.S food production industry where companies utilize chemicals and abuse as a mean of earning money.
The documentary brings out a situation where ethics have been disregarded in the production of food. The film brings out the deception that buyers undergo while shopping for food. In light of the film, big companies control the farming process for the purpose of earning money (Kenner). The companies get a lot of money at the expense of hardworking farmers and the health of consumers. The deception in the food industry goes undetected because it is carefully covered from the public eye.
As mentioned earlier, large companies use their influence to manipulate the food market. They source food from foreign nations and make it look like they were produced in the United States. It is alleged that some of the foods sourced from foreign nations are usually unripe. For instance, raw vegetables like tomatoes are taken to secluded areas where they are ripened with chemicals and stocked in shopping malls (Kenner). Corporations have learned the method of using chemicals to produce crops that are not even in season.
Food Inc. ensures that the deception of large companies comes to light. The companies utilize shopping malls as a step of ensuring that their activities are hidden. The pictures used in the malls try to depict the products are clean and organic. The pictures of the typical American farmer are utilized on the covers of the packages. The activity gives an impression that the food is produced in farms (Kenner). However, the notion is not true since some products are imported. The average farmer in the United States is at the mercy of these corporations. ...................GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
