The issue led her to make the decision that she favored a physician assisted suicide.

In 2004, Brittany Maynard experience intense headaches that led to her discovery that she had brain cancer. She was a 29 year old lady whose marriage had just reached a year. Her family’s life was filled with numerous trips to doctors in the United States. She underwent numerous scans and the doctors told her that surgery was the best option in the scenario. Therefore, she underwent a partial cranial surgery to remove a tumor. Surprisingly, after a few months, her brain scans revealed that she her tumor had come back. The tumor was bigger and worse than the previous one.

The second tumor was big and the doctors advised her to get a radiation for the whole of her brain. The procedure required painful, costly undertakings which would only make her life miserable. She would lose her hair and her skin would be filled with burns. The patient figured out that her life would be gone after the surgery.
