King Menkaura the Egyptian ruler- Research Paper

For this discussion, I chose to analyze the statue of King Menkaura and his queen. King Menkaura was an ancient Egyptian ruler from the 4th dynasty of the Old Kingdom. The statue depicts the king and his queen, who is portrayed holding him by the hip. The sculpture is made out of dark smooth stone to represent the idealized version of nobles as sturdy individuals who could withstand the test of time. Kings were immortalized through mummification and buried with their property.

It is easy to see from the statue that the man was a leader from the idealization (god-like), his pose with one leg forward to show authority, and his garments (the headdress). The sculpture also shows the role that queens performed for their husbands. It depicts the queen standing side by side with her king and having her arm around him to illustrate affection and support. Both figures show no emotion or movement to display esteem and control.

The Egyptian representation of human form is symmetrical, vertical, and lacks movement. The sculpture has counterbalancing horizontals and strong verticals that are indicative of the Egyptian art at the time. Today’s art pieces capture each curve and imperfection to create the ultimate masterpiece. They also bring out a sense of movement and emotion, be it smiling, running, crying, and the like, to show the vibrancy and chaos in the modern community.

The bust of Nefertiti is beautiful because it captures the symmetry of her face and the idealization of a queen as a stunning being. The description provided in your post is very detailed, from the collage, artistic representation, color, form, and balance. It captures the expectations of Egyptian art, which mainly depicted the leaders to immortalize them. It is true ............GET AN AFFORDABLE PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
