Law Enforcement-Inferiority complex Paper

Inferiority complex refers to a psychological condition or behavior in which an individual feels less cared for, less valued, or less important. In most cases, this behavior among police officers is caused by work stress and the feeling that they are not being included in the decision-making process. Moreover, inferiority complex is caused by lack of affection, security, and acceptance. It is the lack of a sense of personal adequacy or a recognition of personality. The lack of an opportunity for accomplishment, independence, and obtain new experiences can also result in inferiority complex among police officers. Also, inferiority complex results from a low sense of self-esteem, low feeling of security, low sense of social approval, and a low sense of adequacy. Frustrations caused by job stress and fatigue could also result in inferiority complex among law enforcement officers. Furthermore, inferiority complex describes the psychological feeling of inadequacy.

This psychological feeling is used to explain some of the emotional problems that human beings undergo when they feel inadequate. The inferiority complex usually results in a difficulty in a person recognizing their weaknesses, admitting failure, or accepting defeat. When an individual suffers from inferiority complex, they will usually resort to deception and subterfuges to try and avoid bad thoughts about him or herself (Iannone, Iannone, & Bernstein, 2013). Moreover, in an attempt to avoid feeling inferior, such an individual will usually resort to setting unrealistic goals for themselves and in an attempt to accomplish these goals, such an individual will usually develop a desire to be dominant. The desire to gain dominance can lead one to engage in antisocial behaviors such as being tyrannical, bullish, and boastful (Iannone, Iannone, & Bernstein, 2013)..........................GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
