Maximillian Barney had a problem demystifying whether the managers in the office were leaders too or they had to wait for directions from the leaders for them to move. The current studies on management and leadership have tried to merge the two such that managers have the qualities of a leader. Managers come up with their programs, plan, coordinate and organize activities and tasks in the organization (Bolden, 2016). Despite their high management levels, they also need to possess leadership skills because they will need them at some point in their careers.

In this scenario, for instance, the managers sat down to deliberate how to go about the sales drop experienced by the company but along the way they disagreed on which direction to take. They already have what it takes to move forward, but since they lack the motivational drive of a leader, they have lost the battle (Goetsch & Davis, 2014). Maximillian should have the managers trained on how to go about the leadership of the organization despite their managerial capacities. Currently, the manager is not leaders because of the lack of the drive to continue with the operation.

The current high turnover in the Quality Control Department costs the company money because training another lab technician is expensive. Skilled lab technicians even those who had worked with the company for a long time had resigned to find employment at a nearby company which was paying better. However, one employee refused to go despite being approached by the company because Biotech has better healthcare benefits which favor her because of her sick son. To ensure these employees stop quitting, Biotech shall revise the salaries of the employees and above all consider other benefits other than the health benefits to make it a better place. Biotech shall review its working conditions to ensure the workers are taken care of by the company, and they have a conducive environment for working (Babalola, Stouten & Euwema, 2016).
