Nestlé’s leadership to enter the African market is to some extent a result of trying to penetrate the unexplored potential market. It is because one wonders how such a multinational was keen in setting their eyes on third world countries. The multinational is inconsiderate in the manner which it enters the African market in respect to the culture of African nations.

Third world countries suffered from poverty and the company took such a window as a basis of exploiting the market. It discarded values of the African nation by introducing formula milk to those lactating mothers. In some situations, the mothers had a problem in giving milk to the young infants since they had to use the formula. The manner they chose to market the formula omitted on the importance of breastfeeding. They instead endorsed the use of formulas with posters plastered in many health centers of healthy babies purported to be using formula milk. This practice was exploitative of the mothers which showed that Nestle leadership took advantage of and ignored cultural values norms. For instance... "Not only did the initial advertising and booklets not mention breastfeeding…" health workers in some instances influenced to endorse claims of formula milk. (Robinson 143)
