Global leadership is the act and process of leading multiple an organization that operates in various regions across the world. Global leaders engage people from the different areas to ensure a smooth flow of the business and a steady growth. (Issue) During the current century, it is advisable for every organization, big or small to stop thinking domestically and practicing domestic leadership (Pedersen, 2018). Due to globalization, businesses have spread across the world and united the world’s economy. Communication and transport across the globe have become seamless with the advancing technology present today. Global leaders, therefore, have no difficulty following up with the businesses and providing directions in real time to achieve the common goal of the company.
The department of Defense (DOD) found itself in a compromising state of strategic distraction when the leadership failed to implement and fully execute the organizational design. The department lacked a clear direction from the leader thus causing a distraction within the DOD. It is imperative for workers to design and develop an organizational design to avoid misallocation of leadership’s focus from issues that require time and attention to non-issues that should come later after the important ones (Price 2013).
Organizational design serves as a path towards achieving the goals of the company though it may as well fail if the leaders lose focus and a sense of direction. Strategic distraction does not happen if the executive leaders understand their position and strategic responsibilities. One of the primary ways of avoiding strategic distraction for any organization is involvement and awareness of the leadership requirements, the sole responsibilities, and pressures that come with every position (Hofmann & van Lent, 2017). The flow of information should follow the protocol to avoid distracting the senior leaders of the organization.
