Analysis of Interview Findings
Summary of Interview Findings
Infancy is a special route that humans pass through as they join the world. Notably, it is a stage of life that necessitates tender care from people who surround the baby, more importantly the mothers. I got a chance to interview a friend of my friend who had a baby in the last one year. I went with my friend to the birthday of his child and conducted the interview after the celebrations. The infancy interview with my interviewee proved to be quite educative and fascinating based on the interesting stories featured with new experiences.
Summary of Interview Findings
The interview took about thirty minutes at the birthday of the child. I took advantage of the opportunity to ask the questions and note down the answers after she (the interviewee) agreed. To the first question, she said the first days after birth she needed paid much attention to every behavior of the child. Babies adapt to breast-sucking almost immediately after birth and their mothers need to feed them more frequently (Brown, 2018). She was extra careful with everything she did to her newborn baby. Changes that took place included expansion of her abdomen, increase in her body size, the baby appeared to grow faster than months later, the baby adapted to the new environment gradually through getting used to warm water and other environmental factors, breast milk started.
Few reflexes showed up in the verge of raising the child. For instance, she said, “The baby behaved like she knew me because she cried when others hold her and remained calm when I held her.” Adamo (2018) notes that babies bond with their mothers fast few weeks after birth. She also confirmed that the baby become stronger physically and stable emotionally months after birth. In the baby’s first year of life, notable physical milestones were strengthening of limbs and smiling back to someone when they smile at her. Through the first year, the baby learnt how to respond to happy and sad moments according to the interviewee. She cried when someone took her toy and smiled to people who played with her.
The interviewee agreed that coping up with the baby’s emotions was difficult at the early stages. However, she tried to figure out what caused emotions and soothed and played with the child whenever she was unhappy or sad. In the first few months, the baby has some intellectual gains such as identifying faces of different persons and proving to like her mother’s face more. She added, “The babies intellectual gains improved over the first year by getting to know more people, accept and reject different types of foods.” According to the interviewee, her child underwent a normal milestone development criterion like any other child would.....................GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
