The American Middle Class Essay
Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United States. His election saw him rise from a poor background to become the president of the nation. His era saw the inclusion of the common man in the governance of the country. However, the middle class of today’s America differ from those of Jackson’s era. The Jacksonian era in the United States saw the middle class enjoy equality unlike in the modern society where the system favors rich people.
It is evident that the modern middle class is different from that of Jackson’s presidency. The reason is because the American society has subscribed to inequality. In President’s Jackson times, it is evident that the United States recognized the rights of every person regardless of financial income (Magliocca, 2007). People received adequate pay as well as medical attention. However, in the current era medical attention for all Americans has been hindered through the repelling of the Obamacare program. Therefore, many employees have a difficult time accessing medical care.
It comes out that during the Jacksonian era, my profession would be different than it is in the present moment. As an employee of a company, I would be in a position to receive medical insurance courtesy of the taxpayer funds. The idea would ensure that the government challenges business owners to provide medical insurance for their workers (Magliocca, 2007). The United States’ government would see to it that the issue of taxation would match the income of a person in every organization. Therefore, every American would receive equal treatment under the nation’s law.
The United States experienced excellent equality in the era of President Andrew Jackson. The case is different as compared to the situation in the modern times. The present society has seen the middle class lose their wealth to the rich. The modern society does not guarantee employees good medical care. It is important to ensure that every citizen receives equal opportunities of self advancement...........GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
