Organizational leadership plays a key role in promoting safety, improving quality, and enhancing collaboration within system-based practice. One of the strategies that can promote safety and improve quality is by using more effective management in monitoring and enhancing quality. Some of these practices include “setting specific quality goals” and monitoring performance on dashboard on a regular basis. Another strategy is incorporating quality and safety performance in evaluating high-level executives (Kapoor, 2014). At minimum, the organizational culture should emphasize on the quality of care and safety of patients. “Leadership walkarounds”— engaging frontline staffs to identify ways of improving patients’ safety— can also be an effective playbook of improving quality and fostering quality (Kapoor, 2014). Importantly, an organization should have training programs that emphasize on safety of patients and quality outcome. Organizational strategies that can promote collaboration in interdisciplinary context include improving space and time considerations in enhancing staff interactions, promoting appropriate training, and providing psychological support.

Critical thinking also enables them to evaluate outcomes, understand the patients and colleagues, as well as planning intervention.

To my mind, it is essential for professional nurses to be skilled in collaborating with professionals from other disciplinary disciplines. This is because collaboration is central to fostering diversity, facilitating information flow, and, ultimately, improving quality and safety of patients when planning patient-centered care within system-based practice (Morley and Cashell, 2016)....................GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
