U.S. Army- Enlisted Paper

The cold war era is a time between 1947 and 1991. Many things happened during the time with respect to various professions. The army profession was hugely affected during the cold war era. Nonetheless, many things have changed with regard to the profession from then to now. Evolution of the army profession in the U.S. is evidenced by many political, social, and economic changes that have taken place over time.

Military occupations and fighting land battles were the main roles of the army during the cold war period. Notably, military occupations were influenced politically. In 1947, the U.S. army was made totally independent, which had not been the case before (Lapham, 2013). The wars in 1950s through 1980s were intense. Moreover, the equipment used by the Armed Forces was not as efficient and good as they are today.

Wars minimized in 1980s and the Army took a new direction. In 1980s through 1990s the army was formed of volunteers rather than people working for a nation; this marked a noteworthy social change (Centre for the Army Profession and Ethic (CAPE), 2019).  The level of technology in terms of equipment, defense and security improved. Joining the army in the U.S. in 1980s was more of a civil duty to the citizens who volunteered to fight for the country (Lapham, 2013).  Civil right struggles were evident in these years when most people strained in making decision whether to fight for a country or not. The purchase of war equipment affected the economy to some extent.

The modern U.S. Army is more determined and has high quality war equipment. Notably, my predecessors in the profession faced the difficulty of fighting for country out their will or forcefully, which is no longer a challenge today. Army professions are paid fairly to protect the country and its citizens. Moreover, the modern U.S. does face many wars as it was in the ancient world.....................GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
