The Missouri compromise indicated future trouble in the United States. The reason is because it brought divison in the nation. Legislators from the north and south could not agree on the debate. It comes out that Missouri was the source of heated disagreements regarding the issue of slavery. Some legislators felt that the inception of Missouri into the union ought to have seen it legalize slavery. On the other hand, some individuals had the opinion that Missouri should be a free state. The issue had to reach a compromise whereby Missouri was finally included as supporting slavery (Murrin, 1999). It comes out that legislators from the north were dissatisfied with the issue.
