What role should the US government and the American people play in preserving various forms of life on earth Paper
Environmental protection is the duty of man on this precious planet because it serves the sole purpose of preserving the different forms of life. From the wildlife roaming the land and the ones found in the sea, man has the duty to ensure that life is preserved and enhanced. Additionally, the environment also consists of the plants present on land and the sea that animals are dependent upon for survival. Therefore, when conservation is concerned, it is like a recoil cycle where one element is dependent on the other and vice versa. The United States government is amongst the leading participants in the global environmental conservation procedures. The American people also form part of the movement because they are the channel in which any undertakings can be effected. Based on the analysis below, the US government and the American people must update their environmental procedures and policies on marine and land life for both plants and animals to include the different human activities present and projected in the future specifically through eradicating ulterior dilemmas and inclusive research from the existing research agencies.
The road towards sustainability for the USA as a country started in the 1960s where Americans became concerned about the impact of the industrial growth on the environment. The environmental protection agency was then created in 1970, through an executive order by the then-president Richard Nixon. The agency is responsible for setting and enforcing tolerable limits of pollution, and it establishes timetables for the polluters to ensure that they abide by the limits. As a government body, the EPA has the role of ensuring that all pollutants are reduced from air, land, and the marine life. According to an article by Carl Zimmer in the New York Times, the effects of pollution are still being felt not because of the lack of policies but rather the deficiency of solutions (Zimmer par 2). .................GET A PLAGIARISM FREE COPY
